Bachelor of Science in Public Administration

128 Semester Hours

The online Bachelor of Science in Public Administration degree is designed to meet the educational needs of government employees engaged in the field of public administration, or anyone whose professional goals include careers in the public and non-profit sectors. The curriculum combines theory and practice for a comprehensive public administration education with an emphasis in problem solving, leadership through service to others, management strategies, and critical thinking. Graduates of the Public Administration Program are qualified for a wide variety of management-related careers in all sectors of government - federal, state, county and city. They may also wish to run for public office or provide services on behalf of the government or use as a foundation for further education leading to a MSM, MPA or another graduate degree.

MINOR OPTION: HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION

This minor prepares students for management positions within the health care system. Specific settings may include hospitals, other health care facilities, state and federal agencies, insurance and managed care companies, law firms, technology firms, and educational institutions.
